What we observe, what we calculate, and what the public Play Store cannot tell us. The short version: store facts stay facts, estimates are labeled, and missing history is never invented.
Google Play has no public historical feed. Each point begins when DJAI successfully captures it.
Charts use published crawl observations. A date range such as 90 days means “look back up to 90 days”; it does not promise that 90 daily observations already exist.
Public listings expose coarse floors such as 1M+, not exact competitor downloads.
We show that bucket exactly. Any installs-per-day field is a clearly marked model based on movement in the exact public rating count.
The opportunity map compares growth, positive rank movement, and breakout evidence.
100 × clamp((.45g + .25max(r,0) + .15b) / .85). Age and freshness are excluded from the score; age only sets the x-position and cohort.
The current public release is a single-market view.
Exact downloads by geography are not available for competitor apps. A future enterprise publisher connection may show authorized first-party reports for apps the customer owns.
A line needs more than one trustworthy capture.
May be partial while collection is still running.
Shown as unavailable, never silently converted to zero.
Each genre begins at 100 so relative movement is comparable despite different raw baselines.
